People approach change in different ways, and the changes that take place as we reach the milestone of our 50th birthdays provoke some interesting responses. In the first of occasional posts giving others’ thoughts on turning 50, here’s Swimwear Designer, Norma Kamali on changing her life at 50:

“…I realised I had come to a point in my life where I felt I was accumulating things and they were stagnating my ideas.  I was tortured because part of me loves to collect things, but I decided to sell my apartment – this beautiful townhouse – because it was influencing the way I was designing.  I held a big auction and sold my house, giving away lots of things in the process.  It was the most freeing experience.  If you read a book and you’re finished with it, why not let someone else have it?”

The author of the blog that features this image says: "Norma Kamali has been around since the 60s, which makes her quite old..." Nice
