Words of Wisdom – Jerry Hall

I never used to take a lot of notice of Texan model and actress, Jerry Hall. Years ago, she was quoted as saying: “My mother said it was simple to keep a man, you must be a maid in the living room, a cook in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom.” That sounded far too exhausting to me, bedsides, I never had much truck with advice on “how to keep a man”. Please. Later, however, I discovered that the full quote ends with: “…I said I’d hire the other two and take care of the bedroom bit,” and I recognised that she’s always had a sense of humour.

Hall is still in demand as a model and actress at 54.  She has this to say about ageing: “There’s a reason everyone says that beauty comes from inside. You’ve got to learn to be confident and laugh a lot. Enjoy yourself, eat delicious pasta washed down with good wine, and have fun. Life is short, so make it sweet – show an appetite for new experiences and living. It’s that, not Botox, that will keep you young.”

Hear hear. It’s not often that I read about a celebrity and think I’d like them for a mate, but I’ve developed a definite soft spot for Jerry Hall.
